Field Tour: Growing Your Farm to Make Conservation Profitable

We will tour several locations where farm managers have applied best management practices to increase crop production and health without breaking the bank. 

New Homes for Douglas County Kestrels 

Audubon volunteers are replacing nest boxes throughout Douglas County that were lost in the 2020 fires. They need help from private landowners willing to allow a box (or boxes) on their property. 

Restoration Progress on Lower East Foster Creek 

Spring on the Waterville Plateau is a time when many things shake off the snow and get to work. When it comes to rivers and streams, the snow retreats to reveal they have been working all winter long. 

Summer Fun to Come at Camp Sagebrush  

Spots are still available for campers at Camp Sagebrush: a fun learning adventure exploring our unique shrub steppe June 21st- 23rd! 

Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) IT’S FIELDTIME!... Field Field… FIELDTIME!!!

Douglas County was once again eligible to have a Conservation Reserve Program signup this spring due to the number of expiring CRP contracts over the last few years. Douglas County had around 44,000 acres available for new CRP contracts.
