Water is scarce in Douglas County, which makes the water we do have that much more important. FCCD is currently implementing riparian restoration projects throughout the county to address water quality issues. The projects are based on recommendations from the Watershed Management Plan for Moses Coulee and Foster Creek Watersheds WRIA 44 & 50. Our current projects involve planting riparian vegetation to improve the stream’s connection with the floodplain, increase stream shading, increase filtration, and decrease turbidity.
We want to hear about your project! If you have concerns about stream reaches on your property or want to restore riparian areas and reap the benefits of restoration, please contact Aaron Rosenblum, or complete the form below.
